Balearia Caribbean Customer Reviews

  • "Great service "

We had a problem with our taxi but the security at the port and the Balearia staff were great! They helped us out and ensured we were able to get the ferry. The staff on the ship were also so friendly and welcoming. The ship was clean and drinks and food good value. The only downside was customs on US side was a nightmare! My 80 year old dad had stand for nearly an hour and a half to get through customs and the ship was half empty. I dread to think how long it would take if the ship was full. Grand Bahama is gorgeous and the locals very welcoming and friendly.

  • "Sea sickness is no fun"

we were asked to be at the ferry terminal 2 hours before departure time. The terminals in Fort Lauderdale and grand Bahama are very basic, and for the number of passengers on that day a one hour check in time would have been sufficient rather than having to hang about in a non-stimulating environment. Also a shock to the system was the extra baggage fee of $US 25 per case per journey ($50 for a return journey with one suitcase) that had to be paid on top of the already fairly pricey ticket.Apart from a bout of (dry) sea sickness during a storm the journey was fine.

  • "Balearia Bahamas Express"

We recently took the ferry to go to the Bahamas. The crossing went well. However, the AC was too strong! You need to bring a jacket for the journey. You have to pay 50 dollars each way for 2 bags. It's something to keep in mind!
