Bari Dubrovnik Ferry reviews

  • "Dubrovnik to Bari, 18 September 2022"

This started as quite a stressful day as, due to a storm the previous day, the catameran which we were supposed to get from Korcula to Dubrovnik, at 0835, to connect with the 12 noon ferry to Bari, was cancelled, resulting in us facing a 2 day delay in Dubrovnik, waiting for the next ferry, which, unbelievably happened to us the only previous time we have travelled on this route. However, on visiting the Jadrolinija office in Korcula when it opened that morning, we were told that, first of all, the 1215 catameran was running, and that the Bari ferry had been reschedued to depart at 1600, the storm apparently also having caused problems at Bari the previous night. We were first on to the already busy catameran at Korcula, maybe not a good thing as it meant that our cases ended up at the bottom of a massive pile of luggage. Also, because this vessel had passengers from the earlier cancelled one, it left Korcula 45 minutes late, and still had to call at Mljet. On the apptoach to Dubrovnik, I managed to get to the luggage, moved dozens of cases and rucksacks and managed to get our cases out, so the only problem on addival at Dubrovnik at 1530, was to get off, not an easy task going against the flow of passengers heading for their luggage. But we made it, scampered off to the Jadrolinija office to exchange our emails for tickets, and were informed there would be a further delay until 1800. Not a problem to us, we were only grateful we had actually made it. Evenyually boardedsometime before 1700 and got underway at 1825, for what turned out to be a very pleasant and calm crossing. Spent the bulk of it in the lounge with the bar, had a couple of beers and a coffee, and a chat about football with the Rijeka supporting barman. Arrival was at 0105, slightly earlier than expected, got a taxi very quickly to our hotel where we arrived at 0130, after a mad dash through the almost empty streets, and next morning we were able to continue our Intertail journey back on schedule, which hadn't looked likely that morning.

  • "Better than expected"

The room was more spacious and the bathroom better than I had been led to expect. Food in restaurant also quite OK, but cash only and the ATM is one of those ones that takes more for itself than it gives to you...
