Menorca reviews

  • "Trip to Menorca"

The crossing is quite expensive, but on board experience is generally satisfactory.

  • "Hard work getting onboard"

Yes, I have used Directferries/Baleria for my journey between Mallorca and Menorca. Excellent service, efficient, punctual. I found only an inconvenience, but I was very unpleasant: leg while on the outbound I climbed on the ship without any problem on the treadmill, on the return boarding (Minorca -> Mallorca) I was travelling with very heavy suitcase and backpack , so I had to carry on alone along the narrow staircase and full of people, even though I had asked for help or alternatives to the hostess and under the eyes of all. They were kind and compassionate (and rightly so) with people with children and their strollers, they stationed apart and the staff brought them out later. Why don’t they do the same with people travelling with very heavy load? If not as a rule, like common sense, kindness and respect for the traveller.

  • "On time, clean, properly "

This trip was booked in advance on the internet. It had everything worked perfectly. It was noticeable that ultimately reassuring control (passport and luggage) before boarding the ship and the clear presence of Guardi Civil aboard. That is probably the reason for the presence as only ," pedestrian "," 60 minutes before departure. "

Menorca Guide

Menorca is the most low-key of the Balearic Islands, with incredible beaches and beautiful towns. Although it might not be able to compete with Ibiza's famous nightlife, Menorca has plenty of lively bars and restaurants to choose from. One of our favourite bars on the island has to be Cova d'en Xoroi where you can enjoy cliff-side cocktails and sunset views. Don't forget to try the local drink, 'pomada', a gin mixed with bitter lemon.

There are 2 ports in Menorca. Ciutadella port is located on the west coast of Menorca and Mahon port is located along the east coast. June is a great time to visit Ciutadella. This is when the amazing ‘Festes de Sant Joan’ takes place, a traditional festival which gives you a peek into the island's vibrant culture. The island's capital, Mahon, also has plenty to offer. Whilst you're there, make sure you take a trip to nearby Fort Marlborough. Built in the 18th century by the British, it's a great spot for history lovers wanting to learn about Menorca’s colonial past.
