"Costly trip"
A ferry trip booked through Direct Ferries, from Liverpool to Dublin, that should have cost me only 72 euros, wound up costing me over 200 euros, due to poor communication on the part of Direct Ferries. The trip was booked for Sunday Aug 5th at 9:30 am. We arrived at the dock address given in the itinerary email from DF, at 8:20 am, only to find the dock closed. We waited for 10 minutes thinking we had arrived early, only to realize that the dock was closed on Sundays. We eventually found a sign, not in plain site, indicating that on Sundays, the ferry left from a different terminal, we got lost trying to find the other terminal due to our GPS taking us to the P&O offices instead of the terminal. By the time we got to the correct address, the ferry was just leaving. I immediately tried to call DF, but they have no answering service available on the weekend. We tried to book a later ferry directly through P&O but nothing was available until midnight. Other ferry services out of HolyHead, 2 hours away, were in the 300 euro range, so we opted to book another day at the hotel we had stayed in the night before, as well as paying an additional 45 euros to P&O for the midnight ferry. I feel Direct Ferries should be responsible for giving the correct address for Sunday bookings. The fact that they are unaware of the change in terminal departures, shows an ineptitude one would not expect from a large travel brokerager. The trip itself with P&O was fine, but again, I feel DF should be aware of any address changes in the departures of ferry trips they book,
