    Small ship, but very small, I was expect something bigger. Fortunately the sea was calm and there was a warm sun. Really bad organization during the boarding in Barcellona: they made us go there 1 hour earlier and let embark 3 hours later, this is stupid. Very clean on board, but perhaps it would be better a bigger ship for a 18 hours crossing...

    Back from our hoilidays in Spain, we decide to travel with a ferry instead driving home. We took one in Barcellona, it was an excellent idea! In 24 hours we were at home. A relaxing crossing, long 19 hours, in a nice enviroment not too busy. Clean cabin, quiet, helpful staff. Positive experience!

  • "Pleasant Experience"

    I travelled for the first time on the Grimaldi lines, m/n Florencia, in August 2012, from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa. On the way out I travelled on a day crossing, I booked a deck passage and sat comfortably at a table in the bar located on Deck 6. Despite a ship traveling at full load the embarkation and disembarkation were fast, punctual departure and arrival was even before the scheduled time. The return was at night, we had an inside cabin. In truth the cabin was a little noisy but large enough for two people, the beds were comfortable, the white linen clean and so was the bathroom. Overall, considering the amount paid in the high season with a special offer (€378 for 2 people + car) there is nothing to complain about, in fact it is the first company with which I will check the price for my next trip.

Savona Guide

The Italian town of Savona is located in the northern Italian region of Liguria, in the Riviera de Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea coast. The town's industrial past is dominated by its iron industry and at one point it had many iron-works and foundries, shipbuilding, railway workshops, engineering shops and a brass foundry. Christopher Columbus was one of the town's most famous residents who reputedly farmed land in the area while chronicling his adventures. 'Columbus' House' is situated between vegetable crops and fruit trees, in the Savona hills, and is one of several residences in Liguria associated with the explorer.

There are many things to see in the town and its medieval centre is worth a visit. The Baroque Cathedral di Nostra Signora Assunta managed to survive the destruction by Genoese forces in the 16th century and so too did imposing Fortezza del Priamar. The fortress guards a couple of sculpture museums and the Civico Museo Storico Archeologico, which displays archaeological finds.

From the town's port Corsica Ferries is the principal ferry operator to Corsica, offering a weekly sailing to Bastia and a weekly sailing to Ile Rousse and Clavi. The crossing time is around 3 hours for all three destinations.


Barcelona Guide

The Spanish city of Barcelona lies on the Mediterranean Sea coast, between the mouths of the River Llobregat and River Besos and is also bordered to the west by the Serra Collserola mountain range. The city is the capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia and is the second largest city in Spain, after Madrid. The city's origins date back to when it was founded as a Roman city and then in the Middle Ages it became the capital of the County of Barcelona. Today, the city is a very popular tourist destination and cultural centre and is particularly well known for the architectural works of Antoni Gaudi and Lluis Domenech i Montaner, which have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

There are many things to do and see in Barcelona including the National Museum of Art of Catalonia which contains a collection of Romanesque art while the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art has a collection on post 1945 Catalan and Spanish art. Also in the city the Fundació Joan Miró, Picasso Museum and Fundació Antoni Tàpies hold important collections of these world famous artists, as well as Can Framis Museum, which focuses on post 1960 Catalan Art owned by Fundació Vila Casas.

From the city's port, whose piers are located close to the city centre, ferries depart to Mallorca, Ibiza and Morocco (Tangier Med).
