Scrabster Guide

What is there to do in Scrabster?

Used as one of the main fishing ports in northern Scotland, Scrabster remains fairly quiet all year round, with the port being the only form of revenue for the community. A few people reside in the small settlement but many residents of the Scottish north coast reside in neighbouring towns such as Thurso or Wick. There is little to do in the town, the only attraction is the Holburn Head Lighthouse which is found a few minutes’ walk from the harbour. Scrabster is the kind of place where having a car is somewhat of a necessity, so bringing your car onto the ferry would be a judicious choice.
