  • "Barcelona - Palma Mallorca ferry review"

Was really hard to find the Balearia desk as there was no signage at all! Almost missed the ferry which was a bit of a stressful start to my trip. Once on the ship all was fine fortunately.

  • "Great experience on Brittany Ferries"

I recently took the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander and back. I had an incredible experience. The food in the self service restaurant was spectacular-- far beyond I would ever expect from cafeteria style eating. Excellent French cuisine. We had booked an outdoor cabin for the two of us-- it was very nice, relatively spacious, with a lovely view of the sea. On the way to Spain, we watched a film in one of the two cinemas. Most of the passengers hung out at the bars on board. I'm not into bars, so we mainly spent time in our cabin, reading and relaxing. On the way back from Spain to the UK, I was sea sick and could not read any longer, which was not very fun. I was seen by the nurse on board, who was extremely friendly, competent, and reassuring. Wifi costs extra and you can't use it in your room, which is a drawback. If I had anticipated being sea sick and the relative boredom of being on the sea for 24 hours, I would have loaded my computer with lots of tv shows and movies to watch. I did not have a chance to see the inside cabins(without a window), so I don't know the quality of those, but with an outdoor cabin, the whole experience was extremely comfortable. Clean, hot showers with water pressure, I found the whole experience extremely luxurious-- especially considering that the whole trip cost less than 200 pounds return for both of us!

  • "Santander with a bike"

Uncannily calm trip, excellent bike handling & tie-down service, great onboard facilities even in the cargo-class seats, the only slight let-down was the basic breakfast menu. Highly recommended.
