What is there to do in Umag?

Umag is one of many Croatian towns that have helped build a beautiful portrait of the west coast of the country; colourful houses emblazon the town, moulded together by narrow, cobbled streets leading to charming squares hosting bustling bars and cool cafes. More salient tourist destinations bogart the limelight for Croatia, however, Umag is a shy beast that boasts an Old Town constructed by archaic walls and gated draw bridges, unfairly remaining under the radar. Wander around the quaint walls and striking edifices, basking in the stunning architecture, symbolised by the Church of St. Mary and St. Peregrin that stands tall in the skyline. Umag has almost become defined by the magnificent Old Town and the allure that comes from such ancient architecture, however, it isn’t just a mecca for history lovers. Modern hotels afford a luxurious experience for visitors, and many streets encourage tourists to sample the local custom in a wave of outlets and stalls set up by the locals.
